Two months and eleven days have past since our last update, and I know some have been wondering … “why?”.
Unfortunately [fortunately in most cases] life happens, and with all the good, there are sometimes defining challenges. We can prepare as best we can but there will always be that curve-ball. Sometimes more than one…
In my case, injury in the family lead to an increase in load and responsibilities at work [being in a family business and all], resulting in little time for daytime web-scouring. I must admit that my time spent in WoW has increased significantly, but more about this outlet a bit later.
Biggi and Ruby both experienced similar situations of increased workload and responsibilities, or even just plain having to work harder to make ends meet.
And as we’ve mentioned before, we have full-time jobs as a means of living. We envisioned doing this in spare time, sharing our love for Tech and Gaming with the select few who share the passion. It just didn’t work out as we started off… maybe one of those situations where we needed to pace ourselves better.
It’s not about falling down, they say… but about getting up afterwards. And that’s exactly what this is about.
“Tech and Gaming” blog was what we were heading for. Exciting stuff that we at the Waffles share a love of … and I’m sure most of you too! We live in an ever increasingly exciting era where Tech advances at FTL speeds [my fellow geeks would know all about Faster Than Light technology
]
Unfortunately, with all that’s come to pass, and the blistering 2 months absence, we’re going in a bit of a different direction. Humble apologies to everybody that fell in and supported us from the start.
We will no longer search the Press Release sites for info every few minutes just to try and have a bit of interesting news that others simply copy and paste off these sites. If that’s what you want, and you want it at the tip of your fingers, simply google “game press release sites” and you’re sure to find the source of most people’s articles. Word. For. Word.
Something I should be putting out there? Probably not. But in all fairness, simply copying press releases is far beneath me or most of the people this blog is intended for. Arrogant? Not at all… Simply the “Honest, truthful and justified opinions” we promised when we started out.
So… Now I’ve explained, I’ve apologised, I’ve exposed a bit and … I’m gonna explain a bit about the new direction
Not before I include our new addition to the family tho:

His name is Bear, the mini Pomeranian. He’s a beautiful pup, and seemingly came to the right home. He is as technological a dog as possible. A technological dog? He loves anything shiny just as much as we do, and haven’t chewed a single wire [yet], always picking a spot next to [or on top of, if possible] the laptop or i-Device in use at the time.
Back to the site
The site will still have a Tech and Gaming feel to it, but seeing that I’ve been investing so much time into World of Warcraft, I’ll be sharing some experiences, and as always a fresh point of view, from it.
Why go in this direction? Well… Everybody knows the term n00b or newb… In WoW it still applies, but they have another rather tasteless comparison “Casuals vs Hardcores” and the connotation that goes along with it is pretty astounding.
I spend close to 50 hours a week in the game. I have several well-geared characters, and know what I’m doing most of the time
– Must make me Hardcore right? Wrong! Elitism, like in any other social instance, exists throughout… on every server and even in cross-server instances where ‘teamwork’ is a must, and it’s pretty sickening.
Those who know me knows how much I just “love” such elitism. I’ll be having a look at how much these people actually miss out on. “Have fun, it’s just a game” seems to be a forgotten string of words for some of them. But what people don’t realise, is that they’re only a small percentage. I’ll be poking fun at these guys a bit whilst helping “Casual” players maximise their enjoyment of the game… Hopefully some will even reach the level of some of these “hardcore players”, simply by being casual…
Join me in upcoming articles to experience the ‘lighter’ and ‘fun’ side of World of Warcraft… the life of WoW, those who play it, as well as issues that everybody could associate with… Ever wondered if the game was for you? Little things like PC requirements and developments, add-ons to you help in-game, starting out up to doing end-game content… socialising, different classes, you name it… A little bit of everything, for everyone.
For now, thanks for reading, and pop in every once in a while to see what’s new. I’ll be on Twitter : Black Sh33p on Twitter or you can reach me through the Contacts page.
Sh33p out.
